The basic process by which the lung cancer cells grow in the human system is by damaging the good cells by its own cells and thereby spreading through the whole body. By knowing this effect by the tumor cells, doctors have found a number of treatment procedures to combat the effect of them. Photodynamic therapy is the latest treatment that has been found by the researchers to cure the cancer. The treatment involves in injection an agent that is sensitive to photo lights.
The abnormal cells in the human system intake them after injecting. And during the treatment process, a light of specific wavelength is applied on the region where the cancer cells are present and they react in way that they get destroyed. Thus the abnormal cells in the patients are completely killed by this process. This method is one the target methods that is developed recently in curing the lung cancer. One of the disadvantages of this treatment is it that the lights cannot penetrate beyond certain region which makes it unable to destroy the cells that is far in.
Whatever maybe the type of lung cancer, the curing procedure involves in destroying the abnormal cells due to formation of tumor. All the procedures involve in injecting the required drugs into the patients and killing the harmful cells. But since the inception of using of drugs to cure the people, the amount of drugs and the stages where not considered. But recent studies shows that drugs that are given in right proportion have better result that the previous methods where drugs proportion are not considered to larger extent.
Drugs in the recent treatments are also given on the basis of the stage that the person is and whether the drug can actually increase the life span of the patient and save them. This type of treatments is known as targeted drugs. These procedures are done with intense care, the patient’s blood are tested so that the drugs can be given to them on the right proportion. This method has shown a great improvement that has been proved by the recovery of the patients from the pain.
Neutropenia is one the effects that is caused due to the treatment of lung cancer, namely chemotherapy. The term indicates that there is an abnormal decrease in the white blood cells count. The human system produces number of cells at a rapid and periodic manner and white blood cells are one among them.
The same behavior is also found in the tumor cells and they tend to multiple at a faster rate. The treatment procedures that are intended to kill these harmful cells may end up in damaging the white blood cells. Thus the doctors who do these treatments must take the note of the counts in the patients before and after the treatment and in most it is done. Depending on the counts the patient can be classified whether he or she is at any risk. The count should be in the range of 4000 to a grand in normal cases. Patients with low count of WBC can have a high fever in most cases.
Anemia that occurs during can be in many are unavoidable and only steps can be taken to lessen the effect even though it cannot be stopped completely. Some of the common symptoms of the anemia are the person who has it always looks pale and not interested in things since he or she may be out of energy due to loss of red blood cells.
Heart beat of the patient can be high than the normal cases and person would feel dizzy most of the times. If the person with the symptoms, they can easily be listed under the chart of anemia. Patients with the anemia can follow the following methods to counteract the effect of anemia. He or she should have plenty of liquid items especially water. The patient can take more time for their nap and prefer taking rest most of the times rather than doing any hard stuffs. The patients must also avoid intake of coffee, consuming any tobacco products and alcohols.
Anemia can occur in a person if he or she has a lesser number of red blood cells count in the human blood system than it is in the case of a normal human. And this abnormal lower number of count can occur in the lung cancer patients normally due to coughing up of blood which may lower the counts. The abnormal downfall of the count may also due to the side effect of the treatment especially chemotherapy.
The treatment works on the principle of demolishing the rapidly generating cells and the human system has many rapid generating cells and red blood cells are one among them. The treatment procedure may also destroy these cells which lead to anemia. Fatigue is the one that closely follows the anemia, the patient also seems to be dull and out of energy due to loss in the blood level due to the treatment and also due to normal symptom of the disease which has blood oozing out from the mouth due to the damaged lungs caused by tumor.
